This is a new use of the word tapestry, adopted by Sales to describe works that often have a quality reminiscent of the pastoral tapestries of the Renaissance as well as the style of the Impressionists. The brushless motion of the paint in a primarily horizontal pattern suggesting woven threads of pigment. |
