COLLAGE
A collage is a work made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. A recognized term in fine art, 'collage' is said to have been coined by Braque and Picasso at the beginning of the 20th century. While it covers a wide variety of material possibilities, to date Sales' collages are comprised primarily of canvases she has painted but for a variety of reasons have not been finished as a single picture.
